Malc: Youve made loads and loads of really cool
maps for Red Alert2, have you had a chance to try the Generals
map editor yet?
Lion: I haven't had the opportunity to use the World Builder
Editor as yet, but I've studied tutorials for the editor.
Malc: What do you think the major difference will be between
mapping Redalert 2 and mapping Generals?
Lion: Patience...the learning curve is a bit higher than
with making RA2 maps.
Malc: How long do you think it will take a average person
to make a map for Generals?
Lion: If they take the time to learn the ins and outs
of the editor and become familiar with it's workings, one can
make a decent, playable map, in a few days. Your not gonna crank
one out in a few hours like you could with the map editor for
RA2/YR. But as with everything else, some people just have a talent
for map making, and thus will excell at their craft faster than
others.
Malc: Any plans to make mods for Generals?
Lion: I personally don't have plans for modding Generals...although
I may dabble a bit in that. I believe our MODDEN website will
have a few Generals mods for the fans though. I will concentrate
on making maps for the game as I did for Red Alert2.
Malc: Last off a little off topic but what are your thoughts
on the WW closure?
Lion: I was saddened to hear that Westwood Studios would
be closed. I considered it Home Base for everything that stood
for Command & Conquer Games. For me, an era has come to an
end, and we close the final chapter and book on a great institution.
But I am optimistic that the Command & Conquer name will live
on, and the full story will be told in future games.
Malc: Thanks for your time =)
